737 Type Rating Exam Prep
Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026.
This policy covers the 737 Type Rating Exam Prep app for Android (package net.mydrivingtest.type737prep), published on Google Play by the developer Irish App Services. Irish App Services is the controller of the personal data described here. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Irish App Services.
Privacy contact: Irish App Services, support@mydrivingtest.net. See also our terms of use.
Summary
- No account is needed. The app does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Your study progress stays on your device and is not included in Android cloud backups.
- We use Google Firebase to understand how the app is used (Analytics), to find crashes (Crashlytics) and to switch the purchase option on or off remotely (Remote Config). We do not use this data for advertising.
- Google Play handles payments. We never see your card details.
- The app shows no ads. We do not sell personal data, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Data on your device
Your study runs, answers, self-check history and results, saved questions and onboarding status are stored in the app's private storage on your device so the app can show your progress. The app also keeps a record of whether you own lifetime access, so it can unlock content without a connection. Removing the app deletes this data. The app does not allow Android cloud backup of this data.
The app does not send notifications.
Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)
The app uses Firebase Analytics, provided by Google. It receives an app instance identifier, a Firebase installation identifier, device model, Android version, app version, language, approximate location (city, region and country) derived from your IP address, the Google Play install source (how you found the app), and events about how the app is used. Google does not store your IP address in Analytics.
Firebase records app sessions, screen views, first opens and app updates by itself, and records in-app purchases automatically, including the product, price and currency. The app also records finishing onboarding; starting a study run (with the mode and the number of questions); submitting an answer and finishing a run (with the mode only); viewing the access screen; starting or completing a purchase; restoring access, with whether access was found; and content loading errors. Events do not include the questions, your selected answers, whether an answer was correct, or your scores.
The app removes the advertising ID permission, turns off advertising ID collection in Firebase, and sets Firebase ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation to denied.
Crash reports and remote settings (Firebase Crashlytics and Remote Config)
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report to Google. A report contains the error and stack trace, the time, device model, Android version, app version, device state (such as free memory and storage), and a Crashlytics installation identifier and Firebase installation identifier. It does not contain your answers.
Firebase Remote Config lets us show or hide the purchase option without an app update. To fetch this setting, the app sends its Firebase installation identifier, app version and similar technical data to Google.
Where Firebase processes data
Firebase processes this data on Google servers, which may be outside your country and outside the European Economic Area. Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA, and on the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework for transfers from the UK. See Firebase privacy information and Google's privacy policy.
Purchases (Google Play)
Lifetime access is a one-time purchase through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy. The app asks Google Play whether you own lifetime access so it can unlock content and restore it on a new device. We receive the order details Google Play shares with developers, such as the order ID, product and purchase date, but never your card details.
If you email us, or tap "Contact support" in the app, your own mail app sends the message. "Contact support" addresses it to our older support mailbox. We use your email address and message only to reply and to fix the issue.
Why we use this data (legal bases)
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Analytics and crash reports: our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is used, finding errors and improving the questions and screens (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). This data is not used for advertising or profiling.
- Remote settings: our legitimate interest in adjusting the app without forcing an update (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Purchases and restoring access: to perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Emails: our legitimate interest in answering you and correcting content (Article 6(1)(f)).
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers named above (Google Firebase and Google Play) and the provider that hosts our email, so they can provide their services to us, or when the law requires it. We do not sell or rent personal data.
Retention and security
Analytics event data is kept for 2 months and user-level analytics data for 14 months; the user-level period restarts when new activity arrives. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Firebase keeps the installation identifier used for remote settings until we ask Google to delete it. Support emails are deleted within 12 months after the request is handled. Data sent to Google is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to analytics and crash data is limited to our Firebase project, and data on your device stays in the app's private storage.
Deleting your data
To delete the study data on your device, uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings (Apps > 737 Type Rating Exam Prep > Storage). Your lifetime purchase stays with your Google account and can be restored afterwards. To ask us to delete data we hold, such as your emails, email support@mydrivingtest.net with the subject "Delete my data". Analytics and crash data are not linked to your name and are deleted automatically at the end of the periods above.
Your choices and rights
You can stop analytics and crash reporting at any time by uninstalling the app; a new install starts with new identifiers. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. Email support@mydrivingtest.net to use these rights. You can object at any time to analytics and crash reporting based on our legitimate interests; email us, or uninstall the app to stop it immediately. Because the app has no account, we usually cannot link analytics or crash records to a person; for purchases, a Google Play order ID helps us find the record. You can also complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work; in Ireland, that is the Data Protection Commission.
Children
The app is a study tool for pilots and trainee pilots preparing for Boeing 737 type rating training. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes
This policy describes version 1.0.0 of the app for Android. We will update this page when the app's data use changes, and change the date above.
